The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is a World Court that is part of the United Nations, estabished in 1945 in San Francisco, California, United States. It adjudicates general disputes between nations and provides advisory on international issues. ICJ came to prominence in December, 2023 after South Africa brought before it a case against Israel due to the Israel’s conduct on the Gaza Strip on its war on Hamas. Since then, this case has seen many other nations adding their force and support, with an aim of solving the Palestinian conflict with the recognition of Palestine as an independent nation. However, Israel and its allies continue to reject the two-state solution to the conflict, and so the case on ICJ goes on.
