Bangladesh is a country in South Asia with a population of over 171 million as of 2022. It’s capital is Dhaka, it’s official language Bengali, and currency Bangladeshi Taka. 2024 has seen Bangladesh experience numerous student protests by the 2024 Quota Reform Movement by both private and public universities demanding reforms and restructuring the quota-based system for government job recruitment.
The widespread of the protests was instigated by the governments’ violent response to protests which resulted to deaths of over a hundred of protesters, that mobilized the youth and general public in supporting the movement.
