A tragic incident unfolded in Brampton, Ont., as an unidentified man was fatally shot on Saturday morning. Peel Region officers responded to a call at Mississauga Road and Sandalwood Parkway at 7:22 a.m. The shooting took place in a vehicle on the drive of a residence on Ivor Crescent, where multiple shots were fired. Federal officials seized 109 kilograms of unauthorized baby eels, known as elvers, at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The search was conducted by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) and the Canada Border Services Agency, resulting in the interception of elvers valued at $400,000 to $500,000 for overseas shipment.
