[InTime News] Greece’s Personal Data Protection Authority (PDPA) fined the ruling New Democracy (ND) party 40,000 euros for not safeguarding the personal data of Greeks living abroad in the “email-gate” scandal. The investigation started after accusations of unsolicited emails to Greeks living abroad before the European Parliament elections. PDPA also fined two former ND officials for mishandling voter lists. PDPA fined the Ministry of Interior 400,000 euros and Asimakopoulou 40,000 euros for data protection violations.
