Driving through Mortlach, Saskatchewan on Highway 1, you can catch a glimpse of a remarkable sight – a towering wooden statue of former hockey broadcaster Don Cherry and his beloved late dog Blue. Standing over 15 feet tall and weighing 2,500 pounds, this masterpiece was carved by Darren Jones, also known as Mr. Cabb. Commissioned by Mike Beaudoin, the idea for the sculpture stemmed from the success of Cherry-style gnomes previously created by Jones.
