Kenya’s high court has temporarily blocked the proposed 30-year lease of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to India’s Adani Group in exchange for upgrading the airport. The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) raised concerns about affordability, job losses, fiscal risks, and lack of value for taxpayers in the deal. Following a joint application, the high court granted a request for a judicial review to challenge the potential lease agreement.
