Moscow says it has detained a French citizen accused of gathering information about Russia’s military activities and failing to register as a “foreign agent”. Russia’s Investigative Committee (SK) states that the detainee could potentially jeopardize the state’s security by gathering sensitive information. The video of the suspect’s arrest was also posted, showing the man being apprehended at a cafe in Moscow. Subsequently, a Switzerland-based NGO confirmed that its adviser, Laurent Vinatier, was the one detained in Russia.
