Following an electric vehicle (EV) explosion that led to the evacuation of over 200 families in South Korea, management teams in office buildings and apartment complexes are taking steps to address fire safety risks. The incident, involving an unplugged electric Mercedes-Benz sedan that caught fire in an underground carpark in Incheon, caused more than 700 residents to be evacuated and resulted in damage to around 140 cars, as well as hospitalizing 23 individuals.
