The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) issued an advisory on Thursday regarding the first suspected case of mpox in Pakistan for 2024. Mpox, previously known as monkeypox, can spread through close contact and cause flu-like symptoms along with pus-filled lesions on the body. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recently declared mpox a global public health emergency for the second time in two years due to outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
