Devastating floods in Darfur have worsened the already grim living conditions of thousands of people fleeing fighting in Sudan. Recent heavy rains have caused floods, displacing thousands, damaging homes, and cutting off essential supplies. At least 75 people have been killed, with over 164,000 affected by the floods. Darfur, facing high risks of famine, is one of the worst-hit regions. Amidst ongoing fighting and limited humanitarian access, local authorities and international organizations are urged to provide temporary housing, food, and water for the displaced population.
