China’s armed forces recently carried out military drills near Taiwan in a show of force aimed at the island’s government. The exercises involved various branches of China’s military and were labeled as a warning to the democratically run Taiwan government to stop “separatist acts.” This demonstration, dubbed “Joint Sword-2024B,” follows similar exercises held earlier this year.
