South Korea is taking proactive measures to prevent the entry of bedbugs into the country following the Paris Olympics. A two-year-old beagle named Ceco has been trained to detect the odour of pheromones released by bedbugs at Incheon international airport. Ceco can sweep a standard hotel room in under two minutes, helping to ensure the safety of athletes, officials, and fans returning from Paris. The pest control company Cesco, in collaboration with South Korea’s ministries and Disease Control and Prevention Agency, is screening travellers on arrival to prevent any infestation.
