Barbados Braces for Major Hurricane Beryl As Tropical Storm Beryl moves towards the southeast Caribbean, forecasters predict it will strengthen into a dangerous major hurricane, reaching Barbados late Sunday. The storm, with winds of at least 111 mph, is expected to be a Category 3 or higher. Hurricane watches are in place for Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, while a tropical storm watch is issued for Martinique and Tobago.
