Recent events in Nigeria have raised concerns about increased Russian influence in western Africa. The state secret police have detained tailors responsible for making Russian flags that were waved during anti-government protests in northern states. The Department of State Services (DSS) also detained the “sponsors” of these tailors, with an ongoing investigation in progress.
