President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the former commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, citing health reasons. Zaluzhnyi will now serve as Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.K. following his replacement by Oleksandr Syrskyi.
His dismissal has sparked public debate as he was highly regarded for his leadership against Russia. Zaluzhnyi, a veteran in the Armed Forces since 1993, has garnered immense popularity among both the military and the general population.
