Tech billionaire Elon Musk made headlines by reducing his commitment to donate $45 million a month to support former President Trump. Musk, who initially pledged the record amount to America PAC, clarified in a recent interview that his giving is now at a lower level.
Despite reports of the $45 million figure, Musk stated that the media inaccurately portrayed his contribution. He affirmed his support for America PAC while emphasizing key values like meritocracy and individual freedom.
Following Musk’s endorsement of Trump after a failed assassination attempt, his ties to the former president have strengthened. Musk’s political views have overshadowed Tesla’s recent subpar financial performance, with the electric vehicle company reporting a drop in sales for the second consecutive quarter.
Although Musk’s plan to donate to a pro-Trump super PAC has not materialized, he remains a prominent figure in the political landscape. Meanwhile, the market interest in electric vehicles varies among political affiliations, with more Democrats expressing interest in purchasing them compared to Republicans.
