The Controversial Completion of US Humanitarian Mission in Gaza
A recent announcement by the US regarding the completion of a floating pier mission delivering aid to Gaza has stirred controversy. Despite a worsening famine in the blockaded enclave, the US decided to dismantle the pier due to bad weather, mechanical issues, and Israeli restrictions on land aid passage. Vice Admiral Brad Cooper declared the mission successful, delivering 8,000 tons of aid in 20 days.
However, criticism arises as UNRWA states the number of aid trucks entering Gaza is insufficient, hindering vital services. The Gaza Government Media Office director claims the aid is limited and fails to meet citizens’ needs, labeling the US claim of thousands of tons of aid delivery as deceptive.
