On 21 July, multiple Ukrainian Telegram channels were flooded with provocative messages, causing concern among users. The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine issued a statement about this incident on their Facebook page.
Reportedly, hackers breached the FleepBot post automation service, which is owned by a Russian company, and began posting on Telegram channels under false pretenses. The State Service of Special Communications recommends removing the FleepBot from affected channels to prevent further issues.
They also stressed the importance of avoiding software from aggressor countries and verifying the origin of any software before use. Victims of such attacks are advised to contact CERT-UA for assistance.
