Israeli forces launched a deadly offensive in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of at least 39 Palestinians, including a local journalist and his family. The total number of Palestinian media personnel killed by Israeli fire since 7 October now stands at 161, according to Gaza’s Hamas-run government media office.
Amidst the airstrikes, Israeli troops advanced into northern and western Rafah, engaging in fierce gun battles with Hamas fighters. The army claimed to have eliminated many militants in various areas, accusing Gaza militants of using civilian structures for military purposes.
Efforts for a ceasefire led by Qatar and Egypt, with US backing, have so far been unsuccessful due to disputes between the combatants. Israel has vowed to eradicate Hamas in response to their attacks, resulting in the deaths of thousands of Palestinians and hundreds of Israeli soldiers.
Despite the ongoing violence, both sides continue to blame each other for the conflict, with Hamas accusing Israel of exaggerating their reports for propaganda purposes.
