Top Iranian military officials, including Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri and Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Commander Major General Hossein Salami, met with acting President Mohammad Mokhber in Tehran to express thanks to the outgoing administration. They praised late President Raisi for his efforts in enhancing the country’s defense capabilities and fostering cooperation between the military and administrative sectors.
The generals highlighted President Raisi’s quick grasp of military and defense issues despite his lack of direct experience with the Armed Forces. They also commended his valuable contributions to discussions on security matters in the Supreme National Security Council meetings.
Furthermore, the commanders lauded Acting President Mokhber for his dedicated work following President Raisi’s tragic passing in May. President Raisi, along with seven others, lost their lives in a helicopter crash in northwestern Iran, leading to snap presidential elections that resulted in Masoud Pezeshkian’s election as the new president.
