Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Extends Support to Oman in Tackling Terrorism
During a visit by the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the recent attack on an imambargah in Muscat and offered Pakistan’s support in dealing with terrorism. The attack claimed six lives and injured over 30 people, most of whom were Pakistani nationals.
PM Shehbaz praised Oman’s quick response in repatriating the deceased and treating the injured. He also expressed solidarity with Oman, citing Pakistan’s own history of being a victim of terrorism for decades. The prime minister extended an invitation to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to visit Pakistan and emphasized the strong bond shared between the two countries.
Additionally, PM Shehbaz highlighted the potential for increased cooperation between Pakistan and Oman in areas such as trade, investment, energy, and defense. A trade and investment delegation from Oman is set to visit Pakistan, signaling a commitment to fostering mutually beneficial outcomes in the future.
The ambassador reciprocated the sentiment, expressing Oman’s eagerness to strengthen trade ties with Pakistan.
