The European Political Community (EPC) summit in Blenheim will see Taoiseach Simon Harris and leaders from 47 countries, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, discussing ongoing support for Ukraine and security across Europe. Following a bilateral meeting at Chequers, Mr. Harris invited Mr. Starmer to Dublin on 7 September.
With a focus on defending democracy, Mr. Harris will participate in discussions regarding the threat posed by Russia and the importance of supporting Ukraine. He emphasized the need for a multi-stakeholder approach to combat disinformation and foreign interference in electoral processes.
The informal gathering, initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron, includes 20 non-EU countries, such as the UK. Mr. Harris will advocate for greater support for international organizations working to uphold democratic values across Europe.
