A group of Yemeni students studying in India staged a protest demanding the payment of their long-overdue financial allowances by the Saudi-led coalition-backed government. The students expressed how the delay in their dues has significantly impacted their living conditions and educational progress over the past 18 months.
They urged the government to promptly resolve their financial issues, accusing the Ministry of Finance of intentionally delaying their payments. The students also called for a halt on academic demands until their financial and educational concerns are addressed, holding the government accountable for their deteriorating circumstances.
In addition, they called for the establishment of a legal committee to investigate and compensate for the injustices they have faced. The students criticized the government’s inaction towards their plight and vowed to escalate their protests until their grievances are heard and resolved.
