Private Company Offers Bounty for Shooting Down US-Made Aircraft

A private company, Fores, has announced a reward of 15 million rubles ($170,000) for the first Russian soldier to destroy a US-made F-16 fighter jet, set to be provided to Ukraine by Western nations.

Fores has previously paid bounties for Russian military personnel who have taken out Western equipment. The move comes as the US, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, and Netherlands plan to supply Ukraine with at least 60 F-16s by the end of the year, with the first batch of 24 jets to be transferred soon.

The Fores deputy CEO, Ilya Potanin, confirmed the reward in a video, stating that destroying F-15 and F-16 fighter jets would be rewarded. Ukraine claims it needs F-16s to defend against Russian missiles and challenge Moscow’s air superiority.

The company has paid out similar rewards in the past, with soldiers and officers receiving compensation for destroying heavy armor like Abrams and Leopards. In a video, Russian soldiers expressed gratitude for the opportunity to earn extra cash by destroying Western-made equipment, jokingly asking for more tanks to meet the demand for bonuses.
