The Russian military has achieved new victories in the ongoing conflict in Donbass, successfully liberating several settlements from Kiev’s forces. The past week has witnessed intense combat along the front line, with Moscow reporting significant gains in the region.
One of the key successes came with the liberation of Chigari, a village near Gorlovka in Donetsk People’s Republic, which had been used by Ukrainian forces to launch attacks on the town. Active fighting also continued in New York, where Russian forces made advances against Ukrainian defenses.
Further west, the Avdeevka axis remained a focal point with Russian forces expanding their control around Ocheretino and seizing strategic villages like Sokol and Voskhod. The advance south of Ocheretino also saw progress, with the liberation of Yasnobrodovka providing significant strategic gains for Russian troops.
In addition to military gains, the Russian military targeted Ukrainian defense industry facilities, including Antonov and Artyom plants in Kiev, and Yuzhmash plant in Dnepr. The strikes have sparked controversy, with Moscow denying claims of deliberately targeting civilians.
Russian forces also conducted effective strikes on Ukrainian military rear positions, causing significant damage and casualties. The hunt for Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenses continued, with ballistic missile strikes destroying Western-supplied equipment.
