Recently, a crucial meeting took place between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his counterparts from Turkey, Bangladesh, and Sudan. The discussions mainly revolved around Tehran-Ankara relations, the Gaza war, and the importance of standing up for Palestine.
During the meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Amir-Abdollahian praised Turkey’s decision to cut ties with the Israeli regime and emphasized the need for Islamic countries like Iran and Turkey to play a more active role in supporting the Palestinian cause.
In another meeting with Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Mohammed Hasan Mahmud, the focus was once again on the developments in Palestine. Both diplomats highlighted the importance of solidarity among Islamic nations in standing against the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza.
Following these discussions, Amir-Abdollahian also met with Sudanese counterpart Hussein Awad to further explore avenues of cooperation and solidarity within the Islamic world.
These meetings come in the backdrop of the 15th OIC summit where Amir-Abdollahian urged countries to sever ties with Israel to help end the genocide in Gaza. The summit also saw the Iranian Foreign Minister engaging with counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Indonesia, highlighting the collective effort needed to address the crisis in Palestine.
