The Edo State Government is taking a strong stance against unlawful gatherings by cult groups in the state on July 7, warning of strict consequences for those who violate the anti-cultism law.
Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, emphasized the government’s readiness to work with security agencies to arrest and prosecute any group involved in illegal activities.
Specifically targeting the Aiye (Black Axe) cult group, Nehikhare warned of possible violence and urged the public to avoid any association with such groups.
In light of the security concerns, the government has urged parents and guardians to advise their children against participating in unlawful gatherings and assured the public of heightened security measures to maintain peace and order.
