Police in Sydney’s north-west are on high alert as they search for an armed man targeting women, with CCTV footage released and additional patrols deployed. In a series of incidents, the man threatened four women walking alone, armed with a flick-knife or hammer. The suspect is described as a man in dark clothing and a balaclava, with olive skin and aged in his late teens or early 20s, acting alone. Police are investigating possible connections to recent break-ins in the area.
Superintendent Barry Vincent urged the public to provide any information to assist in locating the suspect, emphasizing not to approach the individual themselves. Homeowners were asked to review their security cameras for potential evidence. The crimes began with a series of break-ins, a car theft, and multiple assaults involving threatening women for their belongings in various locations.
Vincent stressed the importance of community vigilance and safety, as the motives behind the attacks remain unclear. Most stolen items and the vehicle have been recovered, but the suspect is still at large. Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities immediately.
