Only 3% of Russian missiles, drones, and guided bombs target military sites in Ukraine, with the majority, 97%, aimed at civilian infrastructure. This alarming statistic was highlighted by Danylo Kubai, First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to International Organizations in Vienna, during a recent meeting of the Forum for Security Cooperation.
Kubai drew parallels to history, likening Russia’s ongoing aggression in Ukraine to past conflicts and emphasized Ukraine’s unwavering resolve to restore its sovereignty. Despite numerous peace initiatives, Russia continues to escalate the conflict through devastating attacks on civilian populations and critical infrastructure.
The Ukrainian diplomat condemned Russia’s tactics as reminiscent of dark periods in history and highlighted the extensive civilian casualties and destruction caused by recent Russian air strikes in Ukraine.
Kubai also noted the International Criminal Court’s issuance of arrest warrants for key Russian military figures in relation to attacks on civilians in Ukraine, underscoring that Russia’s actions will not go unpunished.
With combat losses exceeding 546,000 servicemen, Russia’s aggressive actions in Ukraine have not only met fierce Ukrainian resistance but also triggered global condemnation.
