The Bhartiya Janata Party has accused the Mamata Banerjee led TMC government in West Bengal of allowing ‘Sharia courts’ to operate in the state, with BJP’s IT cell head Amit Malviya sharing a disturbing video on social media. The video, allegedly from Chopra town, shows a man brutally flogging a woman and another individual in public.
Malviya identified the man in the video as Tajemul, known as JCB in the area, who supposedly administers ‘quick justice’ through his ‘insaf sabha.’ The BJP leader criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, calling her ‘a curse for women,’ and accused Chopra MLA Hamidur Rahaman of being associated with the man in the video.
Malviya urged India to address the existence of Sharia Courts in West Bengal under the TMC regime, highlighting the lack of law and order in the state. The BJP has been vocal about the alleged failures of the TMC government in maintaining law and order, especially in the wake of post-poll violence against BJP members.
