US President Joe Biden remains optimistic about his chances of winning the presidential election despite criticism of his recent debate performance. Attending fundraising events in New York and New Jersey, Biden defended his debate showing against Donald Trump, acknowledging his flaws but promising victory.
Critics within the Democratic Party questioned Biden’s suitability as a candidate following the debate, with some suggesting a change might be necessary. However, Biden’s campaign chairwoman emphasized that internal polling showed no significant shift in voter opinions.
Despite concerns, fundraising for Biden’s campaign remains strong, with over $27m raised following the debate. The campaign’s chairwoman emphasized the close nature of the election and dismissed speculation about Biden’s potential withdrawal.
