A total of 103 Nigerians deported from the Republic of Turkiye back to Nigeria have been received by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other stakeholders. The deportees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Friday evening and were received by Federal Government officials led by NEMA.
The returnees were conveyed by a Southwind Airlines flight from Turkiye to Nigeria. NEMA Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, advised the deportees to accept their experience and be law-abiding. They were welcomed with dignity and provided with financial support for transportation to their destinations.
After screening and profiling by various officials, including the Nigerian Immigration Service and the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, the deportees were cleared and given transportation assistance. Various government agencies and organizations collaborated to ensure the smooth reception and integration of the returnees.
Overall, the successful reception and support for the deportees demonstrate a collective effort to address their needs and facilitate their return to their communities.
