Why Israel is Unprepared for War With Hezbollah
Published on Sputnik International
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed readiness to confront Hezbollah in Lebanon, raising concerns about Israel’s preparedness for potential conflict. Hezbollah has warned against military actions unless Israel stops civilian casualties in Gaza and displayed its military capabilities unseen by Israel.
Hezbollah’s recent threats and actions have revealed its advanced military tactics and stockpiling of weapons. Security analysts have raised alarms about Israel’s ability to handle a potential conflict with Hezbollah, citing the lessons from past invasions that ended in catastrophe for Lebanon.
The Washington-based CSIS analyzed a possible conflict, emphasizing Hezbollah’s territorial advantages in southern Lebanon. The Institute for Counter-Terrorism warned of Hezbollah’s potential to overwhelm Israel with missile attacks, stressing Tel Aviv’s lack of readiness for an all-out war.
“A conflict with Hezbollah could attract regional allies, complicating the situation for Israel,” Trombetta added, pointing to the risks of broader regional involvement in a potential conflict.
