Reports of explosions in Yevpatoria, occupied Crimea, shook residents around 10 p.m. on June 23, as stated by local news outlet Suspilne Crimea. Witnesses heard two powerful blasts that rattled windows and sirens blaring across the city.
Yevpatoria, a resort city in Western Crimea, is situated to the north of Sevastopol. The Russian Defense Ministry alleged Ukraine’s involvement in an attack on Sevastopol with five U.S.-made ATACMS missiles. According to Mikhail Razvozhaev, head of the illegal government in Sevastopol, three individuals, including two children, lost their lives, while nearly 100 people sustained injuries.
However, The Kyiv Independent could not confirm these claims independently, and as of now, Ukraine has not issued any statements regarding the incident. The situation remains tense and uncertain as the region grapples with the aftermath of these reported explosions.
