JI Leader to Lead Nationwide Protest Against Power Load Shedding and High Electricity Bills
In a bold move, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has called for a countrywide protest against the ongoing power load shedding and exorbitant electricity bills. The announcement came during a press conference where Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami labeled Pakistan’s Year 2024-25 budget as anti-people.
Referring to electricity bills as “bombs landing at the homes of power consumers,” Hafiz Naeem expressed outrage over the government’s policies that have led to the current energy crisis. He highlighted the unjust burden of 2800 billion rupees on the country for electricity that is not even being generated.
This protest marks the beginning of a movement against the oppressive electricity bills and load shedding, with Hafiz Naeem vowing to continue until their demands are met. He also criticized the government’s proposal to tax solar systems, further exacerbating the burden on consumers.
As public outrage grows, JI’s protest aims to bring attention to the unjust practices and policies affecting the citizens, urging for a more equitable solution.
