Kinzhal Missiles Strike Yavoriv Firing Range
Recent reports suggest an influx of F-16 fighter jets, technical personnel, and pilots into Ukraine. The Russian Air Force deployed Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles to target various airfields, including Starokonstantinov and Yavoriv training ground.
Russian forces have previously attacked the Yavoriv training ground, resulting in casualties. The latest strike on the flight control command centre aimed to disrupt F-16 operations in the region.
International Response to F-16 Involvement
Countries like the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden have pledged support to Ukraine by providing F-16 and other military aircraft. Sweden, for instance, contributed two SAAB Saab-340 AEW&C reconnaissance planes to bolster Ukrainian capabilities.
- F-16 jets can reach speeds exceeding Mach 2 and altitudes up to 15,000 meters.
- The aircraft is equipped to carry AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles with a range of 100-160 kilometres.
As Russia escalates attacks on potential F-16 bases, the conflict in Ukraine shows no signs of relenting.
