Israeli firms have proposed equipping the Argentine Army with UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters to enhance its military capabilities. This initiative follows ongoing updates, such as acquiring armored combat vehicles, and past collaborations with companies like Elbit Systems and UVision for cutting-edge technology.
Under President Javier Milei’s leadership, Argentina has strengthened ties with the U.S. and Israel, facilitating new defense agreements. The introduction of Spike LR2 anti-tank missiles is another recent offer from these firms.
The U.S. Army plans to retire 51 Black Hawks by 2025, creating opportunities for programs like Foreign Military Sales to sell these helicopters, with each valued at $2 million approximately.
Israeli companies aim to purchase and modernize these aircraft to meet Argentine standards, starting with acquiring ten helicopters and potentially more in the future. This proposal aligns with the Army’s operational requirements and the phase-out of obsolete equipment like the AS332 Super Puma helicopters.
As part of a larger scheme to enhance national defense, integrating Black Hawks from the Presidential Fleet and additional units is under consideration, indicating a strategic goal to boost the Army’s responsiveness and capabilities.
