The Council of Defense Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member countries has convened in Almaty, Kazakhstan, marking an important event within Kazakhstan’s current chairmanship in the organization. However, Armenia has opted not to participate in this meeting.
According to Yury Shuvalov, the CSTO Secretariat spokesperson, Armenia will not attend the council meeting but will not oppose any decisions made in its absence. The focus of the meeting will be on discussing challenges and threats to military security in the CSTO collective security regions, as well as the development of the organization’s military component.
