RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism Court (ATC) has suspended arrest warrants for former federal minister Shireen Mazari in connection with 13 May 9 incidents cases, ARY News reported.
As per details, Mazari questioned the issuance of arrest warrants despite her consistent appearance in court, stating, “I have appeared in every hearing, yet my arrest warrants were issued.”
The court attributed the warrants to a typing error. The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) heard the cases and suspended Mazari’s arrest warrants.
Mazari told the court that she received calls from police stations the previous night, informing her of the arrest warrants. However, the court’s decision has now put those warrants on hold.
Earlier, an anti-terrorism Court granted bail to Shireen Mizari in different cases of vandalism and attacks on government buildings related to May 9.

ATC Judge Malik Ijaz heard the bail plea of the former minister and granted bail against Shireen Mizari’s personal surety bonds.
It may be mentioned that Shireen Mizari was implicated in fourteen different cases related to the May 9 vandalism.
Soon after the May 9 riots, last year, the former federal minister announced to quit PTI and politics altogether.
On May 23, 2023, Shireen Mazari condemned the May 9 riots, saying that she had always opposed violence.
She reasoned her decision of quitting politics with deteriorating health conditions following her 12-day detention post May 9 riots when protesters took to the streets across the country after former Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested from the court premises in Islamabad.
