Today marks Youm-i-Takbeer, a day to commemorate Pakistan’s successful nuclear tests 26 years ago. However, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has criticized the government for using the nuclear programme for political gain. PTI emphasized that the nation’s nuclear capability was achieved through the dedication of its people and scientists, not due to any political party.
The PTI spokesperson condemned the PML-N for trying to take credit for Pakistan’s peaceful nuclear programme, accusing them of exploiting it. He highlighted the public support and participation in every stage of the programme, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to defending itself against threats.
Furthermore, PTI claimed that Pakistan is currently under the grip of the ‘worst individual dictatorship’ since the regime change operation. The party alleged that individuals from various sectors are being targeted and coerced into submission, affecting the country’s constitutional rights and rule of law.
As we reflect on the significance of Youm-i-Takbeer, it is important to remember the sacrifices made by the nation to establish Pakistan as a nuclear power, and to ensure that such achievements are not exploited for political gains.
