The Turkish Aerospace Industries headquarters was hit by a terrorist attack, resulting in five deaths and 22 injuries. Two attackers were killed after the incident, with Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirming that they were likely members of the PKK.
In response to the attack, Turkish air forces conducted strikes in northern Iraq and Syria, destroying 32 PKK targets. President Tayyip Erdogan, along with leaders like Russia’s Vladimir Putin, condemned the attack, receiving condolences from various countries.
Witnesses reported employees being taken to shelters inside the building and an evacuation taking place after the operation ended. Images showed damage to the campus gate and armed assailants entering the building.
TUSAS, Türkiye’s largest aerospace manufacturer, produces various aircraft and employs over 10,000 people. The incident has sparked investigations by prosecutors and condemnation from NATO, the EU, and nations including the U.S. and Pakistan.
