Terror Strikes Turkey: Unidentified attackers wreak havoc at aerospace industry headquarters
Turkey’s government responded to an attack near Ankara, blaming Kurdish militants the PKK, with strikes in Iraq and Syria. The attack near the Turkish Aerospace Industries headquarters left 5 dead and 22 injured, with footage showing two assailants firing guns. The Turkish defense ministry reported destroying 32 terrorist targets in retaliation. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the attack and confirmed the involvement of the PKK.
Among the casualties were 4 TAI employees and a taxi driver. President Erdogan, attending a summit in Russia, labeled the attack as “vile terrorism”. Authorities imposed a media blackout, restricting social media use to prevent misinformation. The attackers neutralized were a male and female, with alleged connections to the PKK. TAI plays a vital role in Turkey’s aerospace industry, manufacturing aircraft for commercial and military purposes. As the investigation continues, tensions and security measures remain heightened in the region.
