Bolivia’s Foreign Ministry has refuted claims made by Israel’s Ambassador to Costa Rica, stating that the country does not have Iranian and Hezbollah military bases within its borders. The Ministry emphasized Bolivia’s commitment to peace and its prohibition of foreign military bases in its territory.
The Bolivian Government condemned the Ambassador’s statements as “irresponsible, unfounded, and self-serving” and urged Latin American countries to avoid provocations that could harm regional relations. Additionally, Bolivia expressed support for Palestinian rights, condemning violence in the Gaza Strip and breaking off relations with Israel in 2023.
President Luis Arce Catacora’s administration reaffirmed its commitment to peace in the region and endorsed the recognition of full statehood for Palestine. Bolivia’s stance aligns with the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in promoting peace and non-violence.
