The Delta State Police Command is currently investigating a disturbing case of alleged child trafficking involving a 15-year-old schoolgirl named Emmanuella Monday. Emmanuella, a Senior Secondary School student, escaped from a man her mother had allegedly contracted her to for prostitution in exchange for money. In a video that surfaced, Emmanuella claimed her mother had repeatedly exposed her to unnamed men for sexual exploitation. Currently in protective police custody, Emmanuella’s statements have been taken by an Inspector of Police along with human rights activist Comrade Aghogho Ighorhiohwunu. Emmanuella’s mother, Eunice Asulie, has denied any knowledge of her daughter’s whereabouts, claiming she has been missing for days and has been searching for her.
