At the latest Presidency session of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a significant development took place with the determination of a draft law regarding the state property of BiH. This draft law will now move forward to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH for further consideration and approval, as reported by Fena news agency.
This marks a milestone as it is the first time the Presidency has taken action to regulate this area. The initiative to include this bill in the agenda was led by the chairman, Denis Bećirović, and member of the Presidency, Željko Komšić. Notably, BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović was in the minority as the law was approved, as per reports from RTRS.
The proposed law emphasizes that as the legal successor of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina holds ownership rights to state property. This means that BiH, along with its institutions and all levels of government, have the authority to use or own the property necessary to carry out their respective duties within the boundaries set by the law passed by the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
