What is happening in Jabalia represents ‘ethnic cleansing,’ says spokesperson for Gaza Civil Defense
The Israeli army is carrying out extensive attacks in the northern Gaza Strip, destroying homes and shelters, the Gaza Civil Defense said Sunday.
Spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal described the Israeli attacks as aiming to displace residents from northern Gaza and empty the area of its buildings, leading to what he termed as “ethnic cleansing and the destruction of all life’s essentials” in Jabalia.
Bassal also highlighted the ongoing Israeli bombardments on homes in Jabalia, Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun, resulting in a dire humanitarian situation with numerous casualties and people trapped under the rubble.
The Israeli army’s relentless offensive in northern Gaza, now in its 16th day, has caused widespread displacement and severe shortages of essential resources, exacerbating the suffering for the population.
