The Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Umo Eno has invested a staggering N208.16bn in roads and infrastructural projects since May 29, 2023. Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof. Eno Ibanga, disclosed this during a press briefing in Uyo, alongside other government officials.
Of this amount, N47.93bn was used for projects inherited from the previous administration, while N151.96bn was allocated to 61 projects under the ARISE Agenda. Notable completed projects include the Akpan Andem Market and the Amphitheatre at the Christmas Village Arena.
Commissioner Ibanga also highlighted progress on the Tabernacle Road project, noting challenges due to heavy rainfall. The government’s commitment to transparency was reiterated by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ini Ememobong, who emphasized the governor’s directive to keep the media informed.
With a total investment of over N208bn in infrastructure, Akwa Ibom State is undergoing significant development under Governor Umo Eno’s leadership.
