Amman – Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi strongly condemned the recent Israeli offensive in Jenin, West Bank, which resulted in the deaths of seven Palestinians and injuries to nine others. In a joint press conference with Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom, Safadi called for an immediate halt to the aggression and urged the international community to intervene to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
Safadi highlighted the plight of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, emphasizing the need to end illegal Israeli measures that exacerbate their suffering. He stressed the importance of stopping war crimes and using starvation as a weapon, calling for immediate protection of Palestinian civilians.
Both Foreign Ministers discussed the deteriorating situation in Gaza and the West Bank, with a focus on achieving peace, ceasefire, and supporting the Palestinian Authority. They emphasized the importance of complying with international law, providing humanitarian aid, and working towards a two-state solution.
Concluding the meeting, Safadi and Billstrom signed a memorandum of understanding for political consultations between Jordan and Sweden, reaffirming their strong partnership and commitment to improving cooperation and coordination.
