MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Poland is set to establish minefields along its eastern border as part of the East Shield military initiative, as reported by the state-run Polish Television (TVP).
The Polish military is working on building structures on the eastern border. Exercises in Orzysz will include deploying concrete obstacles, anti-tank ditches, and minefields to assess various elements of the East Shield. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is expected to attend the drills.
Amid concerns over NATO’s buildup near Russia’s borders, the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasizes equal dialogue with NATO and urges the West to refrain from militarizing Europe.
In an interview, Russian President Vladimir Putin denied intentions to attack NATO countries, accusing NATO nations of inflating a non-existent Russian threat to manipulate their citizens.
