President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently visited London for a meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at his residence in Downing Street. This marks Zelenskyy’s second visit to Downing Street since Starmer took office, with the first visit occurring in July where he became the first foreign leader to be hosted in London after the change of government.
During his visit, Zelenskyy also met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Additionally, he is scheduled to visit Paris to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.
Zelenskyy was also expected to visit Berlin, but the plans were disrupted due to a change in US President Joe Biden’s schedule. Nonetheless, he had plans to hold talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin.
The meeting between the leaders at the Ukraine Defence Contact Group was postponed, but the possibility of it happening in the future remains uncertain. Zelenskyy’s diplomatic engagements underscore the importance of international relations in addressing ongoing issues in Ukraine.
